Celebrate 100 years of Buster Keaton’s silent cinema masterpiece The General with live piano accompaniment from Dominic Irving in the beautiful Picture Gallery at The Holburne Museum.
Full of deadpan comedy, daring stunts, and locomotive chaos, The General remains one of the great action comedies of the silent era. This exclusive screening is presented with live music, pace, and physical brilliance thrillingly back to life.
Bath-based pianist and composer Dominic Irving specialises in silent film accompaniment by blending improvisation and orchestrated performance to create a live cinema experience that captures the energy and emotion of silent cinema.
Tickets will include entry into the Ancient Landscape, Modern Times: Eric Ravilious and the Artists of the Chalk Downs from 6-7pm. Smoothly after this spectacular panel, the screening will start at 7pm and finish at 8:35pm.
