Made a short film in the South West? We want to see it.
The South West Shorts Showcase is a new strand within Bath Film Festival celebrating bold filmmaking voices from across the region. We’re looking for distinctive storytelling, exciting new perspectives and ambitious filmmaking craft across narrative, documentary, animation and experimental film.
The showcase is open to short films between 5 and 20 minutes from filmmakers based in the South West of England.
Selected films will screen at Everyman Bath as part of a dedicated festival showcase, bringing together regional filmmakers, audiences and industry guests for a special celebration of South West talent.
Audience members will vote for their favourite film on the night, with one filmmaker receiving the South West Shorts Audience Award.
Whether you’re an emerging filmmaker making your first short or an established creative exploring new ideas, this showcase is designed to spotlight the strength and originality of filmmaking happening across the South West right now.

South West Shorts Showcase Screening – Bath Film Festival 2026
The South West Shorts Showcase screening will take place during Bath Film Festival this October at Everyman Bath.
Alongside the screenings, filmmakers will have the opportunity to meet fellow creatives, festival audiences and industry guests as part of the wider festival programme.
Tickets and full festival dates will be announced later in the year.
