How does AMPLIFY! work?

AMPLIFY! is a new collaborative online film festival from the UK’s largest regional film festivals: Cambridge, Cornwall, Brighton (aka Cinecity) and of course, FilmBath.

From 6 – 22 November AMPLIFY! will be streaming a full programme of films, Q&As, masterclasses, and industry events to a UK-wide audience.

How does AMPLIFY! work?

Our full programme of films and events are now live on amplify.org.uk but here’s some more info on what to expect from AMPLIFY!

  1. Festival Pass
    Makes AMPLIFY! a bargain: just £50/£30 for ten films (and with the code LoveBath, you get 10% off) plus events, Q&As and FREE shorts.
  2. Tickets
    If ten films are more than you want to watch then don’t worry, you can just book the films you want to watch individually.
  3. Make a note in your diary
    Once you’ve grabbed your Pass or Tickets, you will have access to stream films during the dates shown.

What’s in the programme?

UK Premieres

We have over 40 films screening over 17 days including exclusive UK premieres of Viggo Mortensen’s Falling. Hot off the back of Sundance, we have Luxor starring Andrea Riseborough as well as Patrick (De Patrick), with Flight Of The Conchords’ Jemaine Clement in a Belgian dark comedy about a nudist camp.

Directorial Debuts

Directorial debuts include You Will Die At Twenty from Sudanese filmmaker Amjad Abu Alala and Lucia Alemany’s The Innocence from Catalonia both of which received glowing reviews on the European festival circuit.

F-Rated and Triple F-Rated

AMPLIFY! offers a programme of 50% female directors amplifying the voice to women from communities all over the world. Films such as Cocoon which portrays a girl’s first love in the beating heart of Berlin; the slow-drip psychological thriller, Rose Plays Julie, from Ireland and Body of Truth following female artists who are taking back possession of the female body in the public eye and from the male gaze.

Documentaries

We’ve found a wonderful array brain-tingling and striking documentaries such as Interdependence a collection of shorts weaving together human and ecological connection another across the planet. And the delicately moving To Be Continued, which examines the diaries of an ordinary soul which makes for extraordinary filmmaking.
