Details

  • Assist the Executive Director in the management, marketing and PR of FilmBath Festival and FilmBath Festival events
  • Assist Executive Director in maintenance and updating of website.
  • Create attractive PDFs to promote different strands of films
  • Assist Executive Director’s press campaign which could include:
    • Writing and sending out press releases for deadlines
    • Targeting editorial in local, regional and national press
    • Approaching journalists, reviewers and broadcasters for festival coverage
    • Sourcing and sending images and film press packs
    • Responding quickly to requests from journalists
    • Creating press pages on the website and in Dropbox which could include PDFs of Press Releases and packages of stills for print
  • Assist Executive Director with Festival launch preparations, invitation list, working with media and sponsors
  • Liaise with sponsors to maximise publicity for events and branding
  • Lease with PR manager to help organise interviews and photo opportunities with print media, radio and TV
  • Liaise with the box offices during the Festival to find out what is selling and what is not in order to focus promotion on less popular events
  • Organise street publicity and marketing.
  • Organise and check specific brochure distribution, liaising with marketing volunteers
  • Organise empty shop window displays
  • Market individual events
  • Compile and archive press coverage from previous years

Essential

  • EITHER a 3rd year OR a graduate OR with at least 2 years work experience
  • Living in or very close to Bath, or somewhere to stay locally
  • Available to work 3 – 4 days a week 3 Sept – 22 Nov 2019

Particular knowledge & experience required

  • Good working knowledge of Word and Excel plus a working knowledge of Macs
  • Good telephone manner
  • A love and understanding of social media (specifically: Instagram, Facebook & Twitter)
  • Ability to communicate (in English) with individuals in a one-on-one or group setting by any means appropriate
  • Produce organised, structured, and well written documents (written in good English)
  • Establish cooperative working relationships with colleagues, service contractors and the public
  • Work safely without presenting a direct threat to self or others
  • Work effectively to deadlines and cope calmly with demanding and/or stressful situations that might sometimes arise

Desirable qualities

  • Good working knowledge of Photoshop and In Design or similar design software
  • An love of/interest in film

There is a fee of £1,500 (inclu) for this role. You will have to pay NI and tax on this fee. You will also receive complimentary tickets for festival screenings and events.
